Setia Law Supports Advocacy Course with Fountain Court Chambers at SMU
Updates
Setia Law is pleased to sponsor the Advocacy Course at the SMU Yong Pung How School of Law, delivered in collaboration with Fountain Court Chambers.
This newly launched course is designed to develop students’ advocacy skills and courtroom craft through a practice-oriented, skills-based curriculum grounded in real-world litigation experience. A distinctive feature of the programme is its cross-border perspective, with experienced advocates from Fountain Court Chambers sharing comparative insights drawn from UK practice alongside Singapore perspectives.
Course Launch and Opening Panel
The course was launched with an opening panel featuring Stephen Moriarty, KC and Leigh-Ann Mulcahy, KC, together with our Danny Ong, SC and Aaron Yoong.
The panel discussion covered a wide range of practical advocacy topics, including courtroom strategy, effective oral submissions, and the habits and mindset of successful advocates. The session was marked by robust engagement from students, whose questions and contributions reflected a strong interest in the practical realities of litigation and advocacy.
Commitment to Advocacy Training
Setia Law remains deeply committed to supporting advocacy training and the development of the next generation of litigators. Sponsoring and participating in initiatives such as this course reflects our broader commitment to legal education, professional mentorship, and the strengthening of advocacy standards within the profession.
